"Results Not Rhetoric"
Independent City Council Candidate
Campaign Overview¹
Joshua Guptel: A Rochester resident, business owner, and proven proponent of the City of Rochester and its growth. An independent thinker, willing to work with anyone in our local government who is serious about improvement and transparency. #whynotrochester
The Key Issues of my “Results Not Rhetoric” Campaign 2023:
Supporting Our New School:
I am an advocate for a modern, well-funded school to provide the best education for our children. As well as the additional business that they can bring to the ward.
As a community and a city, it’s important that the new school project is transparent, efficient, and addresses the needs of our growing community. I embrace being that liaison and voice for the community.
Strengthening Our East Rochester Business District:
A major goal of mine will be to foster a thriving local economy by attracting stable businesses to the East Rochester Business District. Not only by looking at creative and sustainable ways to bring business to the city, but also by promoting initiatives that create jobs, increase foot traffic, and boost economic growth on the Eastside. I’m excited to use my existing business ties to partner with local entrepreneurs and to develop a sustainable business ecosystem.
Reimagining the Nancy Loud School Property as a Public Park:
I’m a strong believer in transforming the Nancy Loud School Property into a beautiful, accessible, and community-centric public park. I do not feel like Ward 1 residents should need to leave our ward to enjoy the health, social, and recreational benefits afforded from a new and vibrant public park.
Additional Priorities
Resolution of the ongoing legal issues involving Keay Field:
This amazing community resource is being overshadowed by posturing and “he-said she-said”. I aim to bring transparency and resolution to this issue and work with both residents and East Rochester Baseball to get the focus back on baseball and away from social media bickering.
Campaign Goals
Engage with Ward 1 residents through my “Walk The Ward” days. I want to meet with anyone who wants to talk about our community. Agree or disagree, I want to hear information and opinions. I am running to REPRESENT the community, not present my opinions as theirs. Call me or message me to schedule a visit from me and let’s talk about your questions and concerns.
Foster a sense of unity, inclusivity, and pride in our community.
