"๐—›๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐—ผ ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ. My name is Sarah Gentile and I'm running for school board in Ward 3. As a mom of two children in our school district, I understand how important it is to have safe, supportive schools where every student and educator can thrive. ๐˜—๐˜ถ๐˜ฃ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ค ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ข ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฎ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜บ, and I am committed to protecting and strengthening it here in Rochester.

With a background in psychology and business, I bring both accountability and compassion to the table. I believe in schools that support not only academic achievement but also mental health and well-being.

Schoolboard service is more than just passionโ€”it's also governance. The board exists to serve students and educators, and every decision must be guided by what is best for their education, safety, and success. That requires working as a team with a superintendent, being transparent with our community, and leading with integrity.

Schoolboard service also means never losing sight of the people the school board is intended to serve. I am committed to listening to students, families, and educators, not just during my campaign but every day after, and ensuring that their voices are the guiding force behind our decisions.

At the heart of my campaign are three pillars: ๐—ฆ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€โ€”every decision must put their education, safety, and well-being first; ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜€โ€”our teachers and staff deserve respect, support, and a strong voice in shaping our schools and community; ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†โ€”essential to build trust and ensure families and taxpayers are truly heard.

Together, we can keep Rochester schools safe, strong, and student-centeredโ€”led by a school board that listens, collaborates, and delivers for our children.

My name is Sarah Gentile. I'm running for school board in Ward 3, and it would be an honor to have your support on Tuesday, November 4th."

Notes:

The Public Information and Community Engagement Office for the City of Rochester is pleased to announce that the Meet the Candidates video series is now available for viewing ahead of the upcoming Municipal Election.

The nonpartisan series introduces voters to candidates for Mayor, City Council, School Board, and Police Commission. Each candidate was given up to three minutes to speak directly to voters, share their priorities, and present their personal message.

To ensure fairness and transparency, all videos were recorded live in a single take, without edits, hosts, or predetermined questions.

The views and opinions expressed in the following video are those of the candidate and do not necessarily reflect the views of the City of Rochester, its elected officials or staff. The content is presented as part of a public information effort to provide equal opportunity for all candidates to address the community.

Introduction from the Candidate (Click to view)

"Hello Rochester,

My name is Sarah Gentile (Gen-TIL-ee), and I am running for Rochester School Board in Ward 3.

As a mother of two children in the district, I know how important it is to have safe, supportive schools where every student can thrive. Public education is the cornerstone of a strong and thriving community, and I am committed to protecting it and strengthening it.

With a background in psychology and business, I bring both compassion and accountability to the table. I believe in building schools that support both academic achievement and mental health.

I recognize that school board service is more than passion โ€” itโ€™s also governance. The board exists to serve students and educators, and every decision must be guided by what is best for their education, wellbeing, and success. Effective leadership requires teamwork between the board and superintendent, honest communication with the community, and a foundation of trust and accountability.

Just as important, it requires never losing sight of the people we serve by continuing to listen to students, families, and educators beyond election day, and ensuring their voices guide our decisions.

Together, we can ensure Rochesterโ€™s schools remain safe, strong, and student-centered โ€“ led by a board that listens, collaborates, and delivers.

Thank you,
Sarah Gentile"

"Centering Students, Educators, and Community Voices

Students, Educators, Community โ€“ These are the voices I will center in every decision. By listening and leading with transparency and accountability, we can rebuild trust and strengthen Rochester schools together.

Campaign Pillars:

  • Students โ€“ Every decision must put their education, safety, and wellbeing first.

  • Educators โ€“ Our teachers and staff deserve respect, support, and a strong voice in shaping our schools.

  • Community โ€“ Transparency and accountability are essential to rebuild trust and ensure families and taxpayers are truly heard."
