Meet the Candidate Video
"𝗛𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, Erik White here. I am running for reelection for Ward Five, Seat B for school board, and just wanted to stop by and say hello.
I've been serving on the school board for one term now, and as I stated I am looking for reelection to serve for you for another term.
I've lived here in Rochester since 1997. Relocated here with the military brought me here, raised my family here, met my wife in New Hampshire. My wife was an educator here in Rochester for many years. She was a teacher as well as an administrator, and she's moved on to another district as an administrator. Now she's been in education for about 18 years.
Our daughters grew up here in the community. Our oldest daughter went on to UNH as a—she played women's hockey at UNH, graduated with her master's degree. Then played professionally for four years for Boston and is now coaching collegiately. Our younger daughter graduated from Spaulding and she went on to University of New England, graduated this past spring, is staying there doing her master's program, and she also played college lacrosse there.
So our daughters are a product of the Rochester schools, and it just demonstrates the the level of dedication that our educators put into the students within their school district, and I can't say enough about them.
I want to be able to continue to serve, to work alongside those educators and administrators collaboratively, so we can figure out what exactly will make our students successful. We all know that scores are low. We have to identify the root cause issues to figure out how do we increase those scores, get those scores up so we can find all children being successful here in our community.
So I will be out and about over the next several weeks, getting to know all of you. Look forward to hearing from you. Want to know what the issues are to see how to make your child successful—what you need. So I am looking forward to hearing from each of you, and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out. See you soon."
